“It is not what you do for your children that will make them capable in life.  It is what you teach them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings” — Waleuska Lazo

As parents we are quick to overprotect and overdo for our children. We do this to compensate for what we did not have as children ourselves.  There is nothing wrong wanting for our children more than we had, but if your goal is to raise capable, resilient, and productive members of society, then, arm them with the tools to succeed and the best way to do this is by making yourself dispensable.

With Gratitude,
